Welcome to the Mighty MLK Media Center. I am Frances Anderson, our media specialist. Although this is my first year as a media specialist, I have been in education for going on 16 years. I am excited to work with our Raiders this year on reading and literacy.



         I am striving to make the media center a fun and engaging place for all students to enjoy and learn. We are working on incorporating maker spaces and STEM activities such as coding into our learning time. 
All students at MLK will be reading toward personal AR goals as well as striving to read as many words as possible. Students who read a million words will become millionaire readers and will receive the royal treatment. Students who meet their AR goals each nine weeks will receive a mystery prize. 
We have other incentives in place such as Take a Test Tuesday where students earn a small prize for scoring a 100 on an AR test on Tuesdays. Coming soon to the MLK Media center will be an AR store where students can redeem their points for prizes.
